Two years have passed in a hurry. I have graduated from BI-Fudan MBA program. Looking back on the reasons for choosing the BI Fudan MBA program two years ago, I feel that my choice was the right one. I have gained a lot from my two years of MBA journey.

At that time, I chose the BI Fudan MBA program for several reasons:

The first is that my career seems to have entered a bottleneck. I have been deeply involved in brand management for many years, and my skills are very good. I have also accumulated a wealth of experience and have been promoted many times. However, when it comes to applying for more senior positions, the company always seems to be hesitant. I didn't fully understand what the company's concerns were at the time, but according to my own judgment, my situation at the time was that I relied more on experience accumulation, but I still lacked a systematic thinking framework for business logic, and my understanding of the business world was still limited. I need a broader business vision. And studying through MBA is obviously a good way to solve this shortcoming.

Secondly, I agree with Fudan's brand and BI's international vision. Since I have been working in a MNC for a long time, an international perspective is undoubtedly a very important factor in my career development. When I observe my colleagues, most of them are pursuing more diverse and international experiences. And BI professors come from different countries and with multiple backgrounds, and their different perspectives on the business world are clearly what I need.

In addition, I compared BI-Fudan MBA and other MBA programs, I found that BI-Fudan MBA's course design meets my time needs, modular course design, 4 days of on-campus study per month, which is almost what I can do within my extremely tighten schedule.

Finally, I learned that most of BI-Fudan MBA’s students come from TOP500 MNCs, with diverse industries, and the average age is around 36 years old. This shows that the quality of the students is relatively high, and they all have rich experience and are young and energetic with open minds. I believe I can learn a lot from my classmates.

After two years of study, I think I was correct, and I did gain a lot:

First, through a classroom study, I systematically learned business knowledge and underlying logic, which connected the pieces of knowledge I had accumulated through experience, and finally connected them into a network. It seems that I have a better insight into the secrets of business world.

Second, the Chinese and international teachers at Fudan and BI broadened my horizons. Fudan professors are all talented and listening to their classes is always full of goodies. The professor of BI taught me more perspectives to think about and made my understanding of the business world more diverse.

In addition, I have another gain is that I truly understand what "the unity of knowledge and action知行合一" is. Merely knowing knowledge is not knowing but knowing and practicing is the real knowing. Take "stepping out of the comfort zone" as an example. I have known this for a long time, but I seldom practiced it. It was not until I started the MBA program that I took the first step in practice. Taking this step, my entire mindset changed dramatically. What's more interesting is that it wasn't just me who noticed that I had changed, but soon my supervisors and colleagues seemed to notice my change as well. Four months after my MBA starting, I was promoted to Director of Marketing, the most senior position in brand management for my company. One year after studying in BI-Fudan MBA program, I took the initiative to apply for a job transfer and started working in sales management. The company agreed to my application and considered it an important experience for me to develop into a more important position in the future. I feel my path of future career development has been further broadened.

Finally, the two years of MBA study made me return to the campus after graduating from university for many years, and once again reminisce the feeling of the green years. More importantly, I have made many friends from diversify industry. Anyway, friendship is a relatively rare experience in the workplace.
