How to create a Sustainable Supplier Base in New Economies

China Sustainability Event: For 7 years Mr. Bartelse educated suppliers in New Economies on how to (re-)structure their business in order to 1) comply with the local legal requirements and 2) how to improve their supply performance. Several weeks ago he challenged top 20 suppliers to roll-out this program in their supply chain with the objective to secure future supply.
Lecturing: Mr. Bartelse receives invitations on a regular basis to lecture on Purchasing Management-related topics at institutions such as:
-Universities of Fudan (China), Leuven, Maastricht and Eindhoven
-Purchasing Excellence Programs for the Dutch and Belgian Purchasing Association
-Global Conferences on Purchasing in the Chemical & Petrochemical Industry.
-Nyenrode Business School of Management
Outline:
*Create awareness for today's global macroeconomic trends and unsustainable activities in the world and in China.
*Introduction to "Planet Possible, AkzoNobels' strategy for "radical efficiency", explaining various examples of Eco friendly product development, Energy and waste water reduction programs, the need for Cooperation/linking to parties in the value chain and with, Governments, Universities, NGO's.
*Our Commitment to our Chinese partners/suppliers in teaching/supporting them to achieve a truly sustainable position through our Supplier Support Visit program.
