THE old Chinese saying “The river goes east for 30 years and then west for 30 years” describes the sudden, unpredictable changes in life. In the same way, technological development and transitions of market economy mechanisms present a great, sudden challenge for our business leaders. To master the challenges that new opportunities and new developments create, modern managers must have the best mix of theoretical knowledge and a practical understanding of how people and organizations work.
Today’s managers have to take challenges and cope with change by learning innovative approaches and tools so that they will be able to control and develop their business in turbulent environments.
As the leading institution of business education in Norway and the largest business school in Europe, BI Norwegian School of Management enjoys a high reputation for being the top training base for managerial professionals.
The School of Management at Fudan University is renowned, both at home and abroad, for its business education and MBA programs. Collaboration between the two schools started in 1996 when the Masters in Change Management Program was initiated.
It became one of the earliest international joint Master degree programs approved by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council. The program has been very successful, with more than 700 alumni having completed their degrees at BI. In July 2003, seven years of joint efforts have finally led to the transformation of this cooperative curriculum into the BI-Fudan MBA Program, which represents great progress for the future development of MBA programs in China.
In the past 10 years, the constant focus on offering the best from both schools makes the joint program capable of combining the global with the local and thus making the MBA an excellent basis for understanding the complexity of management in today’s rapidly changing international and local markets.
The BI-Fudan joint program is focused on “change management” and this will also be the title for its MBA program. A combination of the expertise of BI Norwegian School of Management and the School of Management at Fudan University will surely guarantee the program a leading position among various MBA programs in China with its high-quality teaching and high-profile students.
