内容摘要:ChatGPT, a cutting-edge AI technology, has the potential to transform frontline online customer service, redefining the roles of digital and human employees. Understanding employees' perceptions of this digital coworker is crucial, as ChatGPT challenges traditional distinctions between human and machine roles. Despite its significance, limited research has addressed its dual impact on employees' psychological factors, particularly job identity, from both the "bright" (enhancement) and "dark" (threat) perspectives. This study, grounded in identity theory, the automation-augmentation paradox, and cooperation-competition theory, investigates how ChatGPT's intelligent capabilities influence employees' job identity through job automation and augmentation. Additionally, it explores the role of employee self-efficacy in using ChatGPT in shaping job identity.
