Roger (Rongxin) Chen is a tenured professor of strategic management at the School of Business and Management at the University of San Francisco. He is also an adjunct professor of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology since 2006. From 1999 to 2001, Professor Chen served as a vice president for JKRen.com, a web portal company.
Professor Chen is a co-founding editor-in-Chief of Journal of Asia Business Studies. He has been invited to visit and teach programs at several universities, including KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, from 2002 to 2008), Cheung Kung Graduate School of Business (CKGSB), ShanghaiJiaoTongUniversity, Xian Jiao Tong University etc. He has received several awards including "Silicon Valley Roundtable Guru” Award from the U.S. National Business Economics Association and Silicon Valley Roundtable, the Abramson Award for Outstanding Article from Business Economics Journal, and research and service awards from the School of Business and Management at the University of San Francisco. Professor Chen has published more than 20 articles and proceedings, including the publications at prestigious journals such as Academy of Management Journal and Management International Review.
Professor Chen is actively involved in business consulting and executive training and his clients include Intel, Michelin, Tyco Electronics, V-Tech, Panasonic, Caterpillar, Fujitsu, Stanford Research Institute (SRI) and other Fortune 500 and high tech firms. Prior to joining the University of San Francisco, Professor Chen worked at AsiaInfo Co. as a senior consultant and at Galaxy Electronics Inc of the U.S. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Dallas.
