With the joint efforts of Yicai, China's leading financial media group, Fudan University School of Management launched a forum on carbon neutrality. As the keynote speaker, Professor Li Zhiguo delivered a comprehensive interpretation of the issue, then provided suggestions for companies and governments to actually achieve carbon neutrality.
Professor Li pointed out that since the emission of greenhouse gases remains a negative externality, public policies must play a key role. Meanwhile, a reliable information platform is necessary to realize the carbon emission allowance trading, of which the foundation is that every enterprise provides accurate basic information.
Professor Li also emphasized that, a company can be considered carbon neutral only if by optimizing the technology and processes, it has managed to reduce its carbon emissions during both production and circulation.
Based on their large amounts of data, some leading Chinese companies are looking for ways to develop a "green collaboration", in which the entire industrial chain and supply chain would work together to promote the realization of carbon neutrality.
