Remembering Zhou Ying: The Lifelong Pursuit of Philanthropy

Zhou Ying, a Fudan MBA alumnus of the 2010 class and a passionate activist who has devoted herself to philanthropy for a decade, passed away with illness in June. The charity organizations she co-founded have directly affected 60,000 college students, having provided volunteers for nearly 50 charity organizations.

During her study at Fudan MBA program, Zhou and her friends initiated a summer camp in which they led group of Fudan students to teach in impoverished areas in Ningxia Province. After graduation, Zhou decided to be a philanthropist instead of pursuing a well-paid job, which she could have secured easily with her abilities.

The "Diggers Youth Leadership Coaching Program" she co-founded later developed into a registered non-profit social organization Center of Youth Talent Enlightened (or CYTE), aiming to provide trainings to college student volunteers so that they could perfecting themselves while helping others. Meanwhile, the summer teaching camp she started has been going on for more than a decade. We all remember this girl who always has smile on the face and devotes herself to public welfare as the lifelong pursuit.
