Having been working in urban planning for 7 years, Li Yan began to feel the urge of transitioning from technical expert to management after she became the head of a team.
"It’s new, unknown, and there is something uniquely charming about it," Li summarized her feelings towards her Fudan MBA study as such. She revealed to us that in urban planning, almost everyone comes from the same educational background and they tend to go through the same career path. That’s why she has been eager to get out of the comfort zone and absorb wisdom from other walks of life.
The Fudan MBA study and her fellow Fudan MBA students have helped her to strengthen her communication skills, improve her management thinking, which urged her to reimagine her future career development. Nowadays, with a deeper understanding of the business world, as well as the logic of her clients, Li can better convey their demands to the government, and provide advice for the government more accurately. The part-time study mode has also urged her to better allocate her energy and work more efficiently.
