Many managers face the same problem: though the company has already got a clear strategy, there are often many problems during the implementation. Professor Zeng Chengye from Fudan University School of Management reminds the managers that there are three main reasons behind poor strategy execution:
1. Some employees lack the sense of responsibility. They are not self-disciplined enough to finish their mission if there is not a clear punishment system.
2. The company lacks an effective incentive mechanism. When some employees see that they are not rewarded for their extraordinary performance, and that others are not blamed for their slackness, they may get frustrated and go on to follow the bad example.
3. An effective execution culture is absent in the company. If the middle and senior management don’t treat their work seriously, their subordinates tend to follow suit. Over time, the strategy execution will fail.
