How to Tackle Tough Questions During an Interview?

Candidates often find themselves baffled with tricky questions during job interviews. Cao Neng, Director of the Career Development Center of Fudan University School of Management, shared some pertinent advice concerning three frequently asked questions.

1. Why do you want to work here?
Express your motivation. Tell a project experience that highlights your qualities. Then make a brief comment on how you could have done it better.

2. What are your weaknesses?
Don’t tout your merits by disguising them as shortcomings, nor should you mention only weaknesses unrelated to this job. Try instead to talk a bit on this subject without being asked, and show that you learn fast from your mistakes.

3. What are your salary expectations?
Convey your confidence about the future of this company, your expectations from your immediate supervisor as well as from the career.
