As one of the most important program of IMBA, iLab has been developed since 2005, the ‘i’ of which embraces integration, intelligence, internationalization, initiative and innovation .The iLab program is a hallmark of the Fudan IMBA course, based on the belief that learning is solidified by doing, by practicing. On Nov.7 2016, the long-anticipated 2016-2017 Fudan iLab is kicked off with the presence of Professor Zhao Weitao, Associate Dean of School of Management, Fudan University, Professor Qiu Lijin, Representative of the iLab Faculty Mentors, Mr. Sun Long, Executive Director of Fudan IMBA Program, Ms. Renee Guo, Officer of International Affairs of MBA Program and senior students.
The Three key messages of iLab
“This is a very well-known and great program: it will bring a lot of benefits to all the participants, not just you guys here (students), but also the companies sponsoring the projects, also maybe your professors, other consultants working on this project.” As Professor Zhao Weitao said, iLab programs provide MBAers great opportunity to get immersed into different business practices. Every year, FDSM cooperates with partner companies to offer valuable platforms for students learning by doing.
“There are three key messages I want to share with you, team spirits, full engagement and spirit of exploring the world.” stressed by Professor Zhao. Only by integrating Multinational team spirit, ownership of the project and the courage to face the unknown area, can the students grow.
“Actively! Actively! Actively!”
“We can’t emphasize enough the importance of participation in iLab, you should actively! actively! and actively involve in.” After a retrospective of iLab’s successful history from 2005-2016, Mr. Sun asserted a claim to the students. “Although it’s an academic course, you are expected to act as a professional consultant and provide the high-quality tailored deliverables to the partner companies.”
Deeper thinking of iLab
Professor Qiu Lijin, the representative of the iLab faculty mentors, carried on the explanation of “education and learning” from the height of philosophy. By facilitating the understanding, students of Fudan IMBA should integrate it into their experiential sphere of “intellectual, emotional and physical”.
Experience Sharing
Several 2015 IMBA student representatives, Hangping Xu, Heegol Lee, Cong Sun and Yong Na shared their interesting and valuable experiences of iLab, which gave the 2016 students more reference.
The iLab project is a significant component of the entire IMBA program that provides MBAers great opportunity to get immersed into different business practices. The kick-off session managed its presence so richly informative and heuristic. iLab is on the road, it will be an amazing experience!
