Fudan iLab World café - The most delicious coffee in Fudan

15th April has witnessed the success of Fudan iLab world café, a dynamic and charming activity gathering IMBA students and iLab alumni together to share and communicate with each other. The topic of this café was “action learning” in iLab.
We advocate action learning, exert ourselves in finding out the new solutions, and continually promote creativity. iLab projects have proceeded into mid-term or final phase, in which many students have confronted with difficulties in methodologies and other real problems. Fudan iLab world café, along with its unique and informative process, provided a platform for students to find solutions quite timely and promptly.
Firstly, the host introduced the alumni who graduated from Fudan with a successful achievement now. Some of them had participated in the iLab projects and did a very good job. Afterwards, director of the IMBA program Mr. Sun Long, made a speech to express his appreciation to the alumni, and his wishes to all the students to have a good performance in the iLab projects.
In the next moment, the iLab café launched. There were three parts, including an interesting warm-up, panel discussion and final conclusion. Firstly each team elected their team leader, timer and recorder as well as design a café name. One group developed a real excellent name as International Café because they have team members from all over the world, beside, they also derived a menu with fusion flavor coffee. In this funny warm-up, students got along well with each other and alumni with acknowledgement of each other’s iLab project and general background.
Each team was given one main discussion topic and an alternative one which covered many aspects of the iLab projects. Topics varied from how to communicate with clients, to how to apply learned methodologies into practice, covered different perspectives related to the “action learning”, which were also in all students’ consideration at the moment. Members could listen to others’ perspectives, share their own experience and discuss on the approaches based on the given topic in each table. In this phase, the alumni in each table participated in the discussion and offered solutions to the confusion of the student in the iLab process. At last, members were given 10 minutes to make conclusion and 3 minutes to make presentation. Every team deconstructed the questions in various angles with deep diving.
Finally, Alumni were presented gifts for appreciation of their coming. For the time limited, the café coming to the end, but the students still carried on the discussion excitedly. iLab world café, with its big success, was over in the group photograph.
