Expanding Global Horizons and Learning Practical Business Skills - Fosun Assists with Chinese and Portuguese MBA Student Academic and Cultural Exchanges

Lisbon in late July is characterized by its blazing sun, reminding us of the brilliant sparks generated from the academic exchanges of the Fosun iLab project team. Fosun iLab is a 2-month practical business learning project undertaken by Fosun in collaboration with Fudan University and The Lisbon MBA. Three outstanding MBA students were selected from each of these two universities to form a business consultancy team, and this team would have to challenge and resolve a front-line commercial strategic proposition proposed by Fosun. Led by the instructors from the universities and Fosun, these MBA students are now endeavoring to gather market information and apply the theories they have learned so as to offer market analyses, in the hope of presenting an innovative, diversified commercial proposal for Fosun.
Students delivered their research findings to Chairman Guo
Cindy Mao, a Fudan MBA student was selected as one of the six project members. Talking about the experience, she said so, “ Working with Fosun company is really an unique and memorable journey for us. Fosun built the bridge between students and professors from Lisbon MBA and us, which is also a big treasure for us. ”
Professor Duarte Pitta from Lisbon said,"I am very honored to have the opportunity of supervising, together with Professor Xucheng Fan, the Chinese and Portuguese Students that are performing a project for the highly successful Fosun Group chaired by your excellency."
Anabela Possidónio, Executive Director of The Lisbon MBA, noted that “we believe that this collaborative relationship will contribute to students directly acquiring experience and knowledge in relation to China’s commercial and cultural developments, and will help them enhance their own team collaboration capabilities. This will also assist them in learning how to deal with different cultures and solve problems. On the other hand, having gained deep insights into the market, these MBA students will be able to offer specialized knowledge to Fosun Group, as well as commercial added value.”
Guo Guangchang, Chairman of Fosun Group, said, “Through this Fosun iLab project, Fosun offers opportunities to MBA students to experience a real business life, thereby enabling them to take on real challenges relating to commercial strategies. Not only does this contribute to educational exchange between Portugal and China, but Fosun is also able to generate new ways of thinking and innovative concepts through the ‘think-tank’ of the universities.”
Long Sun, Executive Director of International MBA program in Fudan also presented his sincere appreciation to Fosun. He said, “As a leading global investment group, Fosun provided a very rare opportunity and platform for MBA candidates. Hopefully this cooperation between Fosun and business schools can last in the future.”
