In the morning of July 2, “2015 Fudan iLab Sharing Session” was held smoothly in room 403, Starr Building. Even though this sharing session was under a very tight schedule, most of the students were still in the final report preparation phase of each project, they had not even fully disengage from the rhythm of the tension for the final exam, but it did not affect their expressing enthusiasm of sharing.
There were mainly seven groups that conducted the project experience sharing in this session. Through a semester close cooperation with the enterprises, the students were generally aware of the importance of effective communication. Communication not only means working closely with teammates and the effectively control of project schedule, but also shoulders the responsibility of understanding customer’s real needs and meeting the customer expectations.
Presented by Australia-China Lab project team, as an international cooperation project, the communication cost was very high, they made full use of various online tools to realize the seamless connection during the implementation process, even distinguished the use of different tools gradually. Such as through a teleconference to update progress every week, use WeChat to communicate with each other in real time, and send emails for official announcement.
Another hot topic mentioned by the teams is the understanding of customer needs. They generally reflected that after a period since the project has launched, it was found that customers had a deeper meaning behind the written demand. For instance, Keteng Project team said, what the customer required is big data analysis, but the big data is not just a solution, nor a goal, the customer’s real need is not to be left behind in the seemingly fast changing business environment and keep its leading position. After further understanding of the real customer need, they finally won the trust and strong cooperation from customer.
In the sharing session, the students also expressed their gratitude to customer companies for their cooperation and support, and they will make efforts to have a perfect performance in the upcoming final presentation.
