Fudan iLab Lecture II by Mr. Tao Kuan was successfully held in November,2014
On Nov. 21st 2014, iLab Lecture II presented by Mr. Tao Kuan, a director within the strategic consulting industry, was given to Fudan IMBA freshmen.
The topic of lecture II is Basic Methodology and Skills of Strategic Consulting. Firstly, Mr. Tao Kuan illustrated the fast growing in consulting industry and delivered the overview of strategic consulting. Business strategy is distinct from corporate strategy and functional strategy. Strategy thinking requires hypothesis driven by fact gathering, targeted analysis and synthesis of different findings.
Secondly, Mr. Tao Kuan revealed the basic skills of strategic consulting. The strategic objectives need to be derived from the vision statement and translated into project goals. Issue tree is necessary to focus the in-depth analysis required for strategy formulation. 7 steps problem solving is specific analysis which results in facts, findings, conclusion, and ultimately a recommendation for the client.
During the whole lecture, many students raised questions to Mr. Tao Kuan and conveyed their admiration in consulting industry. They are looking forward to hearing more lectures in the future.
