1. GNW-Yale Team
The team to Yale University for GNW program was a big one. They are Xu Luobin, Wen Yilan, Li Fang, HU Xiaoyue, Wang Jun, Fu Xiaobing, Chen Qinwen, Cheng Shujuan, Xu Jia, Zheng Daohong, Yang Xiuhui and Ai Jianxun from 2012 MBA program, and Guo Chi from 2013 IMBA.
The GNW week in Yale was wonderful. There were 3 main parts: behavioral related courses, networking activities and New York visit day. The first part, of cause, was the courses. School of management of Yale University prepared a serious of courses on behavior related applications, from finance, marketing to management and communication. The contents of courses were not very new to students from Fudan University, but still very interesting and impressive.

After all, Yale University is one of the main originators of behavioral economics. The professors demonstrated their proficiency in this particular field. Even for those who had some knowledge of this filed before, these courses were still helpful to extend their eye scope. The second part was networking activities. Yale University arranged a lot of networking activities. Actually, there were networking activities almost every day, from informal gathering in BAR, small group dinner, alumni party to karaoke evening. These provide lots of chances for the students with different culture background to meet and talk closely. This is the one of the most valuable part of GNW week. To exploit this value, one should be more open to the activities. Talk more with classmates from different culture background, and try to understand different custom. The third part is New York Visit Day. School of management of Yale took this GNW really seriously. The visited companies are all great companies, such as Goldman Sachs, Alcoa, Bloomberg, and Credit Suisse. Students got good reception by these companies. It is a cherished chance for students to visit 3 great companies in a day and have the chance to talk to CEO or VC of these companies directly.

One more thing, Fudan student Chen Qinwen demonstrated his talent in cartoon drawing in the final presentation. His master piece got highly appraised. We are really proud of him. At Last, sincerely thanks to all people who make the program run and make this wonderful week happen!

2. GNW-UCD Team
In Oct. 2014, Fudan MBA students had a very impressive week study in UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School in Dublin.
The topic of this class was to discuss executive decision making. The formal class was started on 13th Oct., 54 students from worldwide top business school gathering together and sharing their professional knowledge in the class. In order to help us better understand the courses, 54 students were divided into 9 teams and took the competition on their simulation game platform. The simulation game did not only enhance our course understanding, but also strengthen the communication between different nations’ students.
The host school considered the pace of sessions very thoughtfully. The courses were started from 9 o’clock in the morning to 4 pm with 1 hour break in the noon. After that, the host school took us to experience the local culture, pub crawl. That was a very special trip, the crew of pubs told us a lot of stories in Ireland history, which were purely fresh for us.
Moreover, we also visited Accenture consulting company as they are very well-known for the strategic solution provider in Dublin. It was a good opportunity for us to understand how consulting firms used their tools to solve companies’ decision making issues.
The weather in Dublin was quite similar to London, we didn’t know whether it would be raining regarding less how sunshine was now in a day. To make our week study more unforgettable, they also invited us to visit Guinness storehouse. During that visiting, we got to know the amazing beer production process and tried the freshest Guinness.
On the last day, we had a goodbye lunch and left this interesting country.

3. GNW-PUC Team
Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, School of Business (PUC) is one of the most famous university in Chile. The campus is located in downtown Santiago, Chile. It is not big but modern. All the professors who presented the course in GNW have studying experience or teaching experience in US or UK which make them have a more international view and better understanding on international students.
Through this GNW, we got the opportunities to know the pillar industry in Chile, it is not just from book, from introduction, actually we had very detailed case study and even company visit, for example, we visited the first biggest wine yard in Chile, which named Conchay Toro. Meanwhile, we got to know the economic situation is Latin American.
Besides studying, we also had a fantastic journey in Mountain Andes and knew very kindly people in Chile. We have to say the trip in Chile is quite good and the experience on GNW is precious.

4. GNW- EGADE Team
Luckily, I was selected to join GNW program to visit EGADE Business School, Santa Fe Site in Mexico City. Our team member from Fudan was only one that was me, naturally I became team leader. After coming back from Mexico, our team would like to share GNW experience to readers.
This program started from Oct 13, 2014 and ended by Oct 14, 2014, Mexico host organized well balanced schedule between class and city tour. In class period, EGADE offered “A Global and Local Mind set, Mexico Case” whole set course. The course contains “Mexico’s Economic Outline and Global Insertion”, “Emerging Nation Firm strategies for International Competitiveness and Development”, “Strategy for International Competitiveness and Development”, “Global Strategy” and “Leadership Strategy” those five sectors. From the course study, I understand that as future leaders, Fudan MBA students need to get international view of business and culture. A good way to understand it is going through the visiting and communicating with different countries’ students. Such experience would be the meaning and achievement of the program.
In city tour’s part, host arranged to visit the Museum of Anthropology. Other than host’s arrangement, I visited Mexico pyramid by my own and went with Yale’s 9 NNW members to experience boating in the place named “BIEVENIDOS EMBARCADERO NATIVITAS”. From those tourist experiences, I could know Mexico Culture deeply other than the knowledge learnt from class room. Meanwhile, I found good relationship with the classmates from USA and Mexico, it would helpful for us to gain potential business chance and deeper friend relationship in future. We really felt it was wonderful and amazing program to build muti-culture and international relationship.
From this trip, of cause I got what the course offered like the agenda above. Especially, I found most of the Mexico professors would like to make example of Chinese economic and corporate like ALIBABA and Lenovo. In one side, I felt proud of it as China became stronger than before. In the other side, I felt responsibility to contribute for Chinese economic to strengthen this strength.

5. GNW-IIMB Team
The experience in IIMB was quite impressive. As a city famous for high-tech and IT industry, Bangalore has a huge number of people working for international software or IT companies, such as INTEL, IBM, EBAY, GOOGLE, etc. Many talents in these companies start their own business after 8 or 10 years working experience. IIMB provides an accurate course connecting the MBA students who want to start their own company soon and the entrepreneurs who have already been surviving for at least 3 years.
The course has 3 parts: lecture, visit and talk, conclusion and presentation.
For the lecture part, a professor gave us an introduction about the structure of economics of India. Surprisingly I found that more than 70% of India’s GDP comes from service while the biggest part of China’s GDP is manufacture. And the service industry in India mainly consists of information, software, IT, and financial service. So that’s the basic difference between these two big developing countries. After talking with the professor, we both laughed because we found a quite interesting phenomenon that India wants to be China, and China also wants to be India. Because they want to expand their manufacture rate and we hope our service rate could be as high as them. But the same purpose of these two developing countries is -- to be more productive. The next 4 days we visited the incubator of IIMB, NSRCEL, an incubator of local government, GINSERV, and an accelerator of Microsoft.
Although the city depressed me a lot, I found most of the IT guys in India are not so boring. They have the courage to start their own business even though the ecosystem also doesn’t help them a lot compared to China. Just as one of my classmate said: once you solve a problem, you find a new business.

6. GNW-IE Team
Our GNW week is in IE (Spain) .We have 7 members including Yu dong, lvmaozhou, wangjiawen, xixingzheng, linyahui, xuhe, xuwenbin. 2 of us are Full time student and 5 of us are part time student. It has been a great joy and fun to study in Spain during GNW week.
The classes: The course of EUROPE AT A CROSSROADS is very realistic since Spain is under the economic crisis at the moment and it is a good example to analyze how to get out of the crisis. We have total six classes regarding the following topics which were presented by four professors. My recommendation is that the course is related to macro economy regarding the Eurozone which is not familiar with us so it's necessary to read some intensive materials to have the basic background regarding the euro before the course. And one of the main professor's English is with strong Spanish accent so that some basic pronunciation skills of Spanish are needed to understand the professor's course.
Topics for classes:
1) A Perspective of the World Economy
2) 10 Downing Street (gamification)
3) Spain,in and out of the Euro-Crisis
4) The Euro is Dead. Long Live the Euro
5) Will Spain Ever Grow Again?
6) The Road Ahead
The group presentation: After the classes, we have the student presentation on the last day. My recommendation is that it's important to be confident to express your ideas in front of people even though you are not a native English speaker since 1) no practice no improvement 2) most of the students come from Asia and US, we were at the same level to the Eurozone business so no one will be laughed even asking the naive questions or expressing the silly ideas.
The activities: The activities organized by school are including welcome gathering, city bus tour, company visit to a bank, presentation from CEO of a family owned wine companies, network cocktail and Flamingo show. Except for the classes and activities, the other time is totally for you to have the group discussion or individual use. Generally speaking, the arrangements are very reasonable which give students enough free time to experience life in Madrid especially to the first visit students to the Europe.
The students: Surprised to know that half of the 50 students are from Yale so that it makes you doubt that you are sitting in Yale business school. I bet that you don't have so many Yale classmates even that you exchange to Yale business school. The most active students are from US and India in the class, possibly because they are using their familiar language. But we are trying to present the best of the Chinese students.
In all, I think the program is very helpful for expanding our experience no matter in study or in life. We are thankful for fudan to give us such a great chance to understand the class in top mba school in MAD. Especially for part time student ,it is great convenience.
