2014 Portugal-China Lab Project Has Been Successfully Completed
On August 30th 2014, at 11:30 local time in Lisbon, five member students of the Portugal-China Lab team ended their final presentation which proved to be an excellent job and received warm applause from executives of Sumol+Compal Company (short for S+C below) and business school mentors.

The 2014 Portugal-China Lab team consists of five students in total from School of Management, Fudan University and Nova School of Business and Economics. The project is funded by Sumol+Compal which ranks No.1 in Portuguese beverage industry, and it aims at providing S+C with marketing research and business plans. Since its launch in July 2014, the project required all members to complete their work in 2 months (including 10 days in Shanghai for market research, 1 month for working separately and the other 10 days in Portugal doing the final report for the sponsor client). Under the guidance of two mentors from both schools, the team overcame various difficulties and fulfilled the task with a satisfactory report within limited time. Finally, their hard work won them unanimous praise from CEO and board members of S+C.
It has been its fourth project since the Portugal-China Lab was first established by Fudan and Nova in 2011. Each annual project provides high-quality consulting services for one Portuguese enterprise from different kinds of industries; it fully helps students from both sides to broaden their vision in business and to learn more about international operation through multi-cultural cooperation.

It was a challenging and demanding project that pushed out competences and coordination capabilities as we worked in remote teams based in Lisbon and Shanghai, and a rich experience at both personal and professional levels. With S+C China breakthrough 2018, what we have gained is not only the chance to learn about Chinese culture, economy and ways to do business such as FMCG, retail locally in China, but also the honest care and interpersonal trust to each other beyond business and across culture. Just like an old Chinese Saying, the road is long, but we are already on the way. All these gains will go deeper and deeper with the flowing of time.
