Lumene Team
Two days of final review put the project into an end. But the flower of our friendship just starts blooming.
At the very beginning, when we got this project, we were burdened very much by the high expectations from Maggie and other officials from school. This is the first B2C project since Fudan-Tekes started to collaborate. Our client Lumene is the business leader in Finnish cosmetic market. We are just a batch of freshmen in marketing study, let alone the consulting service. None of our teammate knew about cosmetic industry; none of us had experience in consulting; none of us had any idea about how to do the entry strategy for any products. How can we succeed in achieving the expectation of Lumene? But we did it!
Based on the instruction of our mentor, Prof. Emma Qiu, we got to know how to do market investigation and how to rationalize our research and actions. We conducted desk work first to acquire knowledge of cosmetic industry. We performed Focus Group Interview to collect qualitative comments about Lumene ’s products. We carried out large-scale online survey to obtain quantitative market data to confirm the facts that we needed to come to the conclusion. We spent a lot of our resource to get precious information of Sephora group in order to facilitate the strategy formulation for Lumene in entering Chinese market through this particular channel. After finishing all these work, we are no longer the freshmen. We would like to call ourselves “semi-professionals” in both cosmetic and consulting industry.
The most important thing is that we received the close friendship between our Finnish friends and us. When we saw each other again, the situation was just like the reunion of a family. We greet, we hug, we kiss, and we shake hands. The joy covered the nervousness of presentation. 3-hours presentation might be the longest one since the initiation of Fudan-Tekes iLab program. But none of us felt suffering from it. We were just talking like a big family. No argue, no debate, no negotiation. The classroom was full of exciting, delight and appreciation.
The moment that we exchanged gift with our Finnish friends pushed the situation to another climax. . These presents with strong affections fulfilled our collaboration at the spiritual level.
From both side of the globe, may our friendship last forever!
