Mid-term Review for 2014 Fudan-Tekes Projects

BioGTS Team
April 23rd to 24th, just after the exams in the first half of spring semester, iLab groups welcomed an intensive week of mid-term reports. Our partner company BioGTS paid a visit to Management School, Fudan University, Shanghai. Mr. Mika and Ms. Annimary, as the company representatives, listened to the iLab group member’s mid-term report, and had a positive communication with the group on the feedback and future plans. It was a fruitful meeting between both parties.
On April 23th, during the meeting, the group further explained the goal, method, and planned schedule to the company. According to their questions about our mid-term report, each group member had given responses and discussed about the following plans. On April 24th, the group members gave a presentation of our findings and mid-term conclusions to BioGTS representatives. Each group members specifically introduced the research results in relative aspects, such as the China waste recycling market research, biogas and biodiesel market research, policy and legislation, the competitor analysis, etc. Together with Prof. Zhang, the group listened to BioGTS’s inputs and comments, and discussed further requirements and the target to be met. All of the attendees agreed that this meeting is a milestone of our cooperation, and we are all longing to a better communication and prospective closure of this project.
Mid-term report had successfully completed, however, this is not the end. Apart from the experience we've earned, and guidance we've got from our mentor, as well as the great support from Takes and Fudan International Communication Office (Maggie’s department), we were so happy that we have delivered our professionalism as an MBA student, and we are also very confident that we will submit a practical, effective, and operational final research report on the market access strategy to BioGTS.

Lumene Team
Two days of mid-term review after 2 months of project study, we got plenty of knowledge about cosmetics industry and a memorable experience of communicating with Jukka again.
Before mid-term report, we just finished final exams for some courses. And on April 20, we conducted 3 rounds of Focus Group Interview with 35 interviewees. The preparation schedule of mid-term report was pretty tight. So we planned to work together to raise the efficiency. From April 21-24, we stayed in a discussion room for the whole day from 9:00-22:00. During these days, time is the only thing we were catching and everything was running in a hurry. But we were really enjoying this unique experience. It was the reason that every teammate devoted all energy and time into the work without any hesitation and distraction.
From the beginning to the end, our report presentation demonstrated the excellent job we had done and satisfied smiles from time to time were on Jukka’s face. Discussion part was most important session in the review. We exchanged a lot of ideas with client, regarding market size and growth, market segmentation and differentiation, distribution channel and strategy, customer habit and preference, etc.  Every detail was educational for us to improve our knowledge in this particular industry and guide our further study of this project. Most encouragingly, Jukka’s continuous praise made our exhaustion in the previous several days negligible.
What surprised us most was the wonderful gift Jukka brought to us from Finland. These presents with strong affections fulfilled our mid-term report at the spiritual level. May our friendship with Jukka last forever!

Serres Team
Three months have passed since we met in Finland with Serres in middle Jan this year. However, Serres team members kept close contact with client and made deep research on different angles to achieve very fruitful improvement. On Apr. 23-24th the sales manager Mika Purttonen and area manager Valtteri Mujunen came to China to have a deep communication base on the quantity of data analysis to reach the same opinion on further work.
During these two days, Mentor Jenny Zhao led the team to an opening discussion on all aspects. With this kind of brain storming, it made the whole discussion more active, efficient and brought deep thinking on the project. Both sides were satisfied with this review.
Hope the team can keep active thinking and communication to show more shining points in the final report.

Vallila Team
In April 24th, Vallila project group of Fudan-Tekes iLab successfully completed the mid-term report to Ms. Inkeri, the representative of Vallila Company. It symbolized that the progress of the project work had been completed in half.
Our group members have done a lot of preparation work for this mid-term session. In addition to the normal work of the project progress, we conducted specialized communication on the mid-term report to Ms. Inkeri for many times. At the same time, we held a number of internal meetings to review our work and to prepare the mid-term presentation. Our mentor of this project, Professor Zhao, gave us much guidance in this process.
After the confirmation of Vallila Company, we arranged an intense schedule for this mid-term session. After arriving at Shanghai in the morning of April 22nd, she immediately went to Haining, Zhejiang Province to visit a potential reseller. In April 23rd and 24th Ms. Inkeri and our group were busy with visiting potential partners and on-site visiting market. This schedule was so intense that Ms. Inkeri had to decline the invitation of welcome luncheon which held by School of Management, Fudan University. Happily, these 3 intense days was fruitful. Ms. Inkeri was satisfied with the potential resellers we introduced to her and with our presentation. She not only praised our group’s work but also recommended the Fudan-Tekes iLab to her friends in Finland. It is high praise to our team work.
