Dublin, the capital of Ireland since middle Ages, locates near the east coast of the Ireland Island. River Liffey traverse the Dublin city, flows peacefully. Modern companies stand in both sides of the river, witnessing the growth and the future of the city.
This autumn, the two of us who are both from 2011 MBA have the opportunity to join the Global Network Week (GNW) and attend the Digital Marketing course organized by UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School in Dublin, Ireland.
The one week study was an unforgettable experience for us. Digital Marketing was different from the traditional marketing course. It covered the knowledge of both marketing and business module.
Every day, we had Professors from different area to discuss the digital marketing in the classes. Every day, we had a guest speaker from different type of local companies to share their experience, business module and business strategy on the digital marketing. And the cases we discussed and studied in the classes were relevant to the Companies we would visit. Understand the Companies from the cases before the visit, made us better understand the Companies’ strategy and challenge.
We benefit a lot not only from the class sessions, the Leadership Speaker Series, the Company Visits; but also from the group work and discussion with MBA students from Yale, IE and UCD. We were impressed by their intelligent and innovative thinking, as well as their hard work and diligence. At the same time, we felt that the disparity between Chinese MBA students and the American or European MBA students maybe neither the sense of the management nor the sense of innovation, but the language and the different communication manner from different culture. We were then encouraged, willing to study and learn more to enrich ourselves. The one week exchange experience gave us a chance to reevaluate ourselves.
After back from Dublin, the strong feeling still motivated us. Like running river under the peace, we’re now more active to be engaged in advanced self-studies and believe the effort would benefit us and improve our insight.
