FUDAN MBA iLab Lecture by Mr. Kuan TAO was successfully held on Nov.14th ,2013

With Fudan’s fast approaching iLab student consulting projects, alumnus, Mr. Kuan Tao, spoke on Thursday to offer students some unique insights into the consulting industry.  Mr. Tao is a graduate of Fudan’s MBA program class of 2000 and a third time speaker at Fudan University. He has over 12 years of experience in strategy consulting in China and is currently the Managing Director of Chairmen and President’s Office with the Fosun Group. 

In order to provide students with a thorough understanding of strategy consulting, Mr. Tao’s lecture focused on three main topics; overview of the strategy consulting industry, methodology and skills, and the basic skills of strategy consultants. Defining strategy consulting as a unique blend between science and creativity, he elaborated on the variety of techniques that can be used to help define and solve a problem. Throughout the lecture, students had the opportunity to learn more about different strategy consulting models such as Porter’s 5 forces and the Merger Endgame Model as well as the skills necessary to be a successful consultant. It is sure that the basic framework and tools presented by Mr. Tao will greatly assist all students in their upcoming iLabs.
