2016 Fudan-MIT China Lab Projects Launched

Dow Corning
On Jan. 14th, the Dow Corning project kick-off meeting was successfully held in Zhangjiang Hi-Tech area, the headquarter of Dow Corning China. Team members, marketing manager and technical manager of Dow Corning, Professor Tzeng and Renee Guo from Fudan University attended the meeting. In the meeting, the marketing manager from Dow Corning introduced the company history, products applications and project background to MIT iLab team members. As the largest Silicone product supplier in the world, Dow Corning is trying to find new growth drivers in the future to better contribute to China market.
During the kick-off meeting, iLab team members shared their understanding about the project and actively discussed about the project scope and methodology. After effective communication, the 2 sides have achieved the agreement of project scope and timeline.
After that, iLab team members also received a very clear product provided by technology manager from Dow Corning. During the training, team members actively asked questions to further understand the product and project. By warmly answering the questions from iLab team, the Dow Corning team also expressed their expectation and willingness to support for the iLab team members.

Fulaan
On January 11, the Fudan-MIT Fulaan Project Team arrived at client company to hold the kick-off meeting. Despite the rainy day, all team members-Sun Cong, Zhuang Bai and Zhu Xun- were well prepared to get a good beginning.
At Fulaan Technology (top 10 online education company in K12 area), the CEO-Siri and COO-Qian Hequn gave a brief introduction on Fulaan. The team was surprised by the fast development of Fulaan and the commitment spirit shown by the management. What’s more, the comfortable working environment and atmosphere also impressed the team deeply.
During the kick-off meeting, team member formally gave introduction of its members. The mentor Professor.Tzeng raised some key questions about the Fulaan’s current strategy, business model, development problems and expectation on this project.
After the 2-hour discussion, the team had a better understanding of the company culture and future business strategy and gave our primary proposal which explained the research methods and time schedule. At last, with the help of mentor and Fulaan management, the team determined the scope and target of the project.
Even though this project is hard and challenging, but the team will try our best to get a successful result!

INTSIG
The kick-off meeting for Fudan-MIT China Lab INTSIG project was held on Jan. 15th 2016, in the head office of INTSIG. Fudan team members, Li Rongchen, Hong Sha, Ge Kaiwen, together with faculty mentor, Prof. Tzeng Cheng-Hua and Guo Jing from MBA Office attended the meeting.
INTSIG’s commercial director Leo Li gave a presentation about their business after a brief introduction of both sides. In the next, vice president Samuel Chen and Liu Shaobo talked about the detailed demand of this project. INTSIG is seeking the future opportunities in fields of marketing automation and prediction marketing in China. Since the business had already well developed in America but still remained unexplored in local market, INTSIG hope they can have a comprehensive understanding about the market and its potential development via this project cooperating with Fudan and MIT students.
Faculty mentor Prof. Tzeng and team members then raised their questions regarding the objective of this project, both sides involved in the discussing and finally reached the agreement of the general direction of the following tasks.
The schedule of the project also had been agreed during the kick-off meeting. MIT students will take participation in next stage at the end of January, and a detailed proposal will be hand to the company by that time.
Both sides were looking forward to the coming cooperation.

Shui On
On the morning of January 11, rain was pattering outside of the window and the air revealed a whiff of the cold wet breath. Three members of MIT-Fudan China Lab team came very early to the Knowledge and Innovation Center, followed by Professor Tzeng and Ms. Guo from MBA Office and one faculty from MIT, to have a project kick-off meeting.
InnoSpace is a professional Internet incubator that is located inside KIC. It provides a three-month entrepreneur accelerating plan aiming to assist starter in the stage from zero to one. Through communication with the senior management, the team came to understand customer’s current business and development strategy. Also the client mentioned their concern for future development considering severe competition in investment business. They expected the team to give them a strategic planning for being listed in the stock exchange market and what part of company should improve.
It is the first time that Shui On participates in MIT-China Lab program, the team will try their best to make good performance on the project.
