摘　要：China has witnessed sizable rural-urban migration which leads to far-reaching impacts on development of over 60 million left-behind children. Existing literature has discussed about health and educational impacts of parental absence, but preference development was seldom talked about. Our study conducted a large-scale field experiment to measure preferences of 1632 rural children ranging from age 6 to 16 in China. We find that being left-behind generally influence most of children’s social preference, but not their non-social preference. Parental absence leads to an increase in children’s risk preference and amount sent in dictator games and ultimatum games, while also result in less trust-worthy children. We further categorized different left-behind situations, and found only being left-behind by both parents have a significant influence. We also discussed intergenerational transmission channel of this influence, and heterogeneous effects of parent absence for different genders and only/non-only child.

主讲人简介：周晔馨，北京师范大学经济与资源管理研究院副教授，北京师范大学创新发展研究院副院长，北京大学经济学博士，曾为英国牛津大学、瑞典隆德大学、斯德哥尔摩经济学院访问学者。研究领域为行为与实验经济学、社会经济学、应用计量经济学和经济史。曾获得北京大学优秀博士论文奖，主持国家社会科学基金、国家自然科学基金面上项目等国家和省部级多项课题。主要论文见于European Economic Review、《经济研究》、《管理世界》、《经济学报》和《世界经济》等SSCI/CSSCI学术期刊，并担任Regional Studies、《经济研究》、《经济学（季刊）》、《管理世界》、《经济学动态》和《中国经济史研究》等期刊匿名审稿人，以及担任国家自然科学基金面上项目评审专家等。
