Topic :Lessons for Launching Your Successful Publishing Career
主讲嘉宾:ARIE Y. LEWIN
The purpose of this seminar is to explore the pervasive, some say invasive, publish or perish environment of universities. It is a development that affects and shapes the scholarship that junior faculty chose to work on. The seminar examines this phenomenon from several perspectives.
Pressure to publish in top peer reviewed journals as price to get in the game. Is it simply just test of craftsmanship? Why are most papers never cited? Implications of growing pressure on social science underlying management practice for rigor and relevance? Implication of rest of the world adoption of US model for variety in management theories and empirical methodologies? Do you have what it takes for a life of scholarship?
Arie Y. Lewin is Professor of Strategy and International Business at Duke University, Fuqua School of Business and is Director of the Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER). He is elected Fellow of the Academy of International Business.
